On Wednesday morning, Leiby Brikman, was stabbed in the back on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights. From the moment that Leiby arrived at Kings county hospital Rabbi Lieder and his team at Ahavas Chesed have stood by his and his family’s side and will continue to do so until necessary. Rabbi Lieder has ensured that Leiby and his family have access to the best care and has also ensured that their all of their physical and spiritual needs are attended to so that Leiby and his family can spend their time focusing on his recovery.
While this case has received a lot of public attention, the work of Ahavas Chessed is largely unknown to the general public but it should be noted that this is exactly the type of work that Rabbi Lieder does on a daily basis, usually multiple times a day. Rabbi Lieder’s dedication
At a press conference on Thursday that was attended by Public Advocate Letitia James was joined by New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, NY Senator Jesse Hamilton, New York City Council Member Laurie Cumbo, NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind.
“While he was alone during the incident, he was not alone,” said Mrs. Rivkah Brikman, Leiby’s mother. “Because G-d was with him. I give thanks to G-d that my son is alive,”. Mrs. Brikman also asked to thank to Rabbi Lider for standing by the family at the hospital.
Following the stabbing of Leiby Brikman in Crown Heights, elected officials and activists met his mother to condemn the crime, demand justice and to thank ‘Hatzalah’ and to Rabbi Avraham Lider of ‘Ahavas Chesed’
